It was alleged that a male neighbour, 31, poured the chemical over the fence after the child went inside, splashing the victim in the face.
The victim was diagnosed at Sydney Eye Hospital with permanent damage to his eyesight.
The alleged thrower of the chlorine has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm by the use of corrosive fluid. He was also charged with malicious damage of property, as the chlorine allegedly also damaged the trampoline.
The charged man was granted strict conditional bail and told to appear at Waverley Local Court on March 30.
