Mother critical after ‘coward punch’
A Mount Isa woman remains in a critical but stable condition following an alleged one-punch attack in Mount Isa.
Queensland Police said at 12am Saturday, The Buffs Club duty manager Melissa Abdoo was at the main entrance when she was allegedly assaulted by a man, causing her to fall the ground, hitting her head.
The mother of two had previously been approached by the man who had been refused entry to the venue.

The man fled the scene but was apprehended about an hour later.
The Buffs Club executive manager Karen Graham said staff were shocked.
“We’re all devastated. Completely devastated,” she said.
“This is one of our family.
“She is a great person she is a great mum and she just doesn’t deserve this, nobody deserves this.”
Ms Abdoo was initially treated at Mount Isa Hospital but was flown to Townsville Hospital by the Royal Flying Doctor Service on Saturday afternoon.
A 28-year-old Parkside man is scheduled to appear at Mount Isa Magistrates Court on Monday charged with grievous bodily harm.
