A pair of Dutch pranksters have used the element of disguise to delve into misconceptions on religion.
Dit Is Normaal, a Netherlands-based YouTube channel, put together a ‘Holy Quran experiment’ on Friday, dressing a Bible up as the holy Islamic text and reading “some of its most gruesome verses” to innocent passers-by.
“The Islamic belief has been under constant scrutiny,” English subtitles accompanying the video read.

“Muslims have been accused of following a religion that has no place in our Western culture.
“What about Christianity?”
The passages included one that encouraged cannibalism between parents and their children, submission of women and the threat of death for homosexual men.
When asked for their opinion on the verses, Islam, and the difference with Christianity, the interview subjects reacted with with various degrees of horror and concern.
“To me this sounds like they want to oppress you and force you to believe what they believe,” one woman said.
“Cutting off people’s hands … I mean, apparently that’s just the way they are,” another said.
When the truth was revealed, many reacted with surprise and embarrassment, except for one man who was prepared to admit his subconscious failings.
“It’s all just prejudice really, I always try not to be prejudiced myself but, apparently I already am,” he said.
