Train conductor punches, kicks passenger
A V/Line train conductor has been stood down after being caught on camera attacking a passenger, who had earlier been accused of assaulting a woman.
Footage of the incident, which took place at Broadford station about 100km north of Melbourne, was widely shared on social media.
Filmed by a passenger on Saturday, it showed the conductor kicking and punching a man.

A person on the platform can be heard to say “no more, no more, that’s it”, as the conductor continued to punch the man while he was on the ground.
The mobile phone footage was uploaded to Facebook about 3pm and was viewed thousands of times.
The pair exchange words before the conductor laid more punches into the man.
A passenger on the train alleged the man had earlier spat at a conductor, after he had twice asked him to “quieten down”.
“That prompted the guard [conductor] to kick him off at the next stop,” the passenger told News Corp.
“He was telling the guard that he was going to bomb his house, that he was going to hunt him down and wanted to know his name.
“The bloke was abusive and making threats … but this guard has taken the matter into his own hands.
“They proved their point with the first couple of hits, there was no need to keep going.”
In a statement V/Line said it was assisting Victoria Police with its investigation and had arranged trauma counselling for staff.
Police said they charged a 46-year-old Croydon man over the alleged assault of a woman on the train, while the Transit Crime Investigation unit said it was investigating the video.
