Where is Tony Abbott?

Deposed Prime Minister Tony Abbott has not been seen or heard in public since being ousted by Malcolm Turnbull, prompting concern from citizens and political commentators.
Mr Abbott technically remains in power until he resigns his commission to the governor-general, which he is yet to do.

“The process has been messy,” political commentator Peter Van Onselen told Sky News.
Mr Abbott is expected to address the media at 12:30pm.
He was last seen leaving the party room on Monday night, after he was defeated by Mr Turnbull 54 votes to 44.
Contrary to tradition, he did not speak to the media or release a statement.
“Can someone please tell me when Tony Abbott is going to muster the goddamned courage to face the media because I have things to do,” ABC personality Marieke Hardy joked on Twitter.
Mr Abbott must resign before 2pm or else Mr Turnbull cannot lead his party in Question Time.
Both Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd addressed the media on the day they lost power.
Abbott supporter Bruce Billson said on Tuesday the prime minister was feeling “quite raw” after the leadership showdown.
The Daily Telegraph reported that Abbott had not yet spoken to Mr Turnbull or any of Turnbull’s supporters.

ABC says it is “positioned in a number of locations where Tony Abbott might be”. Is that not completely weird, to have to stake him out?

Where is Tony Abbott? Haven’t heard an exit/confession speach. Did I miss it? #libspil #auspol — Andrew Honan (@BoydHonan) September 14, 2015
Where’s Tony? Not even a statement from T. A at least Julia & Kevin faced the media straight after #auspol
