Malia and Sasha Obama have proven that even presidential offspring aren’t immune to the perils of puberty.

The leader of the free world’s two daughters were less than impressed with their dad’s antics during the annual pardoning of the national Thanksgiving turkey at the White House.

As President Obama cracked some lighthearted jokes and injected some holiday cheer into the ceremony, Malia, 14, and Sasha, 16, played the role of angst-ridden teens, standing behind their father with arms crossed and sullen stares on their faces.

“Want to pet him?” Obama asked his daughters during the time-honoured ritual.

“Nah,” Malia replied.

Malia, 16, was recently named by Time magazine as one of its 25 most influential teens of 2014.
