Shortly after Malcolm Turnbull’s announcement that there would be a 4.6 per cent reduction in ABC funding over five years, Twitter lit up with the hashtag #ABCbudgetcutshows.

The Abbott Government has broken its promise not to cut funding for the ABC, announcing that its budget allocation would be slashed by $254 million.
The Government has also reduced funding to SBS and opened the way for the multicultural broadcaster to make more money from advertising.
While the cuts were signalled by Mr Turnbull on Q&A on Monday night, the exact figures were unknown until today.
Mr Turnbull also said that any programming changes would be “cowardly” and that the changes could be made without affecting programming and in line with an efficiency review.
Nonetheless, Twitter users quickly started speculating and renaming some of the ABC’s popular shows to reflect the funding cuts.
