British PM David Cameron’s security scare: video

British Prime Minister David Cameron has had a full-scale security scare after a man claiming to be an innocent jogger bumped into him on a busy street.

Mr Cameron was leaving a Civic Hall in Leeds when a man suddenly ran towards him, appearing to shove him.

While his security team quickly kicked into gear, removing the man and bundling Mr Cameron into the car, many are questioning how the jogger managed to get so close to the prime minister.

While initial reports suggested that the man may have been a political protestor intentionally seeking to harm Mr Cameron, police have said there was “nothing sinister” about the incident.

The 28-year-old man – who claimed he was on his way to the local gym – has been released from custody and is now challenging the strength of the security team protecting Mr Cameron.

“It begs the question how good is security if I managed to run between them before they stopped me,” he told The Telegraph UK.

“I dodged in and out and around and the next thing I knew I have got half a dozen suited men haranguing me and manhandling me to the floor.

“The whole while I am asking what is going on and ‘Who are you?’

“I had no idea who I had run into. I gathered I had run into someone quite important. I could not know it was David Cameron.”
