American Ebola patient dies
American Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan has died in a Dallas hospital after being diagnosed with the deadly virus more than a week ago.
The 44-year-old was being treated in isolation with experimental antiviral drugs after developing the virus when he travelled from Liberia to America last month.

Texas Department of State Health Services commissioner Dr David Lakey confirmed Mr Duncan’s death in a statement, calling his treatment an “enormous test of our health system”.
“The doctors, nurses and staff at Presbyterian provided excellent and compassionate care, but Ebola is a disease that attacks the body in many ways,” Dr Lakey said.
“We’ll continue every effort to contain the spread of the virus and protect people from this threat.”
Mr Duncan’s family has being quarantined at the property where he stayed, and continues to be monitored for signs of Ebola.
Authorities have confirmed no one being monitored has symptoms consistent with the virus.
