Jacqui Lambie likes her men rich and … well-hung
Finding love is all about the bulge for Jacqui Lambie.
In terms of the back pocket and the front pouch, the Palmer United Party senator is looking for a generously-proportioned man.
“They must have heaps of cash and they must have a package between their legs,” the outspoken Tasmanian senator told a Hobart radio station on Tuesday of her criteria for an eligible partner.
“I don’t even need them to speak,” she said of her essential ingredients for the perfect man.
• Lambie’s first question a beauty
• Abbott ‘put daughters at risk’
Joining the upper house in July, Senator Lambie has established herself as a straight-talker, already publicly labelling Prime Minister Tony Abbott a “bare-faced, uncaring liar”.
Her latest comments, made during a breakfast interview with Kim and Dave on commercial network Heart 107.3, will sail close to the wind for some people.
Senator Jacqui Lambie has been criticised for comments she made on breakfast radio programme.
Imagine the fallout if a male politician said he was only interested in busty women.
In fairness, Senator Lambie probably wasn’t expecting questions about her love life, and the mother-of-two said she hasn’t had the energy for a relationship in the past 11 years.
But she played along with the efforts to find her love and even took an on-air call from 22-year-old “Jamie”.
“Are you well hung?” she asked the caller.
After stating he is “hung like a donkey” and has “been about a fair bit”, the senator voiced concern.
“You don’t have any diseases do you?”
Jamie dropped off the line before radio presenters could set up a date for the pair.
“I have that effect on the men,” Senator Lambie said.
Social commentator Tracey Spicer described as “disgusting” on Twitter Senator Lambie’s questioning of the young caller.
The interview also touched on Senator Lambie’s personal grooming habits and what she does with her leg hair, bikini line and underarms.
“Right now the state I’m in you’d want to bring out that whipper snipper first,” she replied.
The comments attracted national media attention and Senator Lambie later apologised.
“A lot of people laughed … (but) some people may have got offended,” she said in a statement.
Using a joke to cover the embarrassment of discussing her love life on a light-hearted radio segment would cause her political enemies to pounce.
“But the reality is I was talking with Kim and Dave on Heart FM, not Sarah Ferguson on the ABC.”
Listen to Jacqui Lambie’s quotes from 2:25 onwards:
It’s lucky the Senate is very much a hung Senate, or Jacqui Lambie wouldn’t have such a good time. #auspol #JacquiLambie #PUP

Have any of the male politicians been asked about their love life – and then you read the comments about her looks and shudder some more
