It is fair to say that life as an interior stylist is never dull. Working with an expansive and revolving number of props each day ensures that no two rooms in my home are likely to stay the same for long! Given trends come and go in a blink, it is important to reinvent your space without costing the earth every time. Here we take a peek at how to ‘shop the look’ for now, leaving you guilt free to recreate your space again before anyone has time to notice!

A carefully curated combination of vintage market makes a strong statement in this front sitting room. Head to a local craft market to unearth similar treasures of your own. Choose a feature light in a contrasting colour to pack a stylish punch, and consider an inexpensive cowhide for practicality and shape on the floor. Glass collections also make an effective and colourful vignette.

A white kitchen and dining is the perfect blank canvas for creating multiple looks, and pops of colour. Pendant lights make for a good focal point over a bench space, and can be purchased inexpensively from Ikea, or you could lash out and invest in some Tom Dixon lighting. Art, book spines and an interesting table centrepiece can easily change up the look.

A day bed with a luxurious collection of cushions can be both inviting and beautiful. Choose a timeless piece of art that you love as your focal point and change up the cushions inexpensively with a mix of colours and textures to create different looks. Try The Family Love Tree for a mix of gorgeous textiles.

A bedroom should be your room to escape and relax. Pick the colours that make your heart sing, and invest in some good basic plain bed linen, but regularly change the pillowcases or bed throw to create a different look each time. Try Amitie for its impressive range of vibrant fabrics and have a go at making your own. Kip and Co is another good option for bright bedding.

Art is the most powerful decorative tool in the trade. It can set the mood, tone and colour pallet for a room. Here are two options at either side of the budgetary spectrum- an old vintage poster purchased inexpensively through to a David Bromley original worth a small fortune. Make friends with local art dealers, try art auctions but most of all, and only ever buy what you love. That way, it will be with you for life.
