Piers Morgan’s co-host burns him with ruthless takedown

British television personality Piers Morgan has been verbally savaged on air by his Good Morning Britain co-host, Susanna Reid.

Reid regularly spars with her controversial colleague and has clearly grown tired of Morgan’s antics after two years of putting up with him.

Recently, a video surfaced online compiling all of Reid’s reactions to some of Morgan’s more inflammatory comments, suggesting the tension between them has been building for some time.

Thus, Reid decided to give the 52-year-old a taste of his own medicine.

During the program’s June 28 broadcast, Morgan was complaining about friends and family sharing their political views on Facebook.

“It really annoys me. I’ve had to unfriend family members because … I need some respite,” he said.

Reid seized on the opportunity to deliver a thinly veiled dig at Morgan.
“I know what you mean,” she said. “When someone keeps going on and on and on and you just need respite and a break.

“And you just wish you could defriend them but you’re just forced every day to listen to their views. I know exactly how you feel.”

Morgan fell silent as it dawned on him Reid may, in fact, be referring to him.

Social media was quick to celebrate Reid’s sassy takedown, including the official Twitter account for Good Morning Britain, which called the moment, “too beautiful for words”.

Morgan appeared to take it in his stride, also taking to Twitter to congratulate Reid.

“Apparently you’ve ‘dragged’ me all over the globe, @susannareid100. Congrats,” he tweeted.

Morgan regularly incites heated reactions with his appearances on the show and has previously admitted the producers spend most of their time screaming at him through an earpiece.

In 2016 he enraged viewers by ripping up a five-pound bank note on air.

“I cannot believe you just did that,” a shocked Reid said. “I’m not sure if that’s even legal. We’ll have to look into it.”
