A technical glitch left viewers of Channel Nine’s 6pm Sydney news bewildered after they found themselves watching Melbourne’s news bulletin instead.
Channel Nine apologised on Wednesday night for “technical issues” that led to television screens going black across Sydney.
Anchor Georgie Gardener managed to read her opening lines before she was interrupted by the glitch.
The feed then cut to some advertisements before switching to Nine’s Melbourne broadcast, hosted by Peter Hitchener.
In the particularly Melbourne-centric broadcast, Hitchener was discussing AFL player Sam Mitchell’s potential trade to the West Coast Eagles.
