The internet doesn’t miss a beat when it comes to trolling.

And on Saturday night, it was at it’s irreverent best during the Miss Teen USA finale.

The nationally televised beauty pageant tweeted its top-five contestants in the lead up to the program, as the promotional picture was hit with an almighty internet roasting as a result.

Social media’s savage responses

Even model Christine Teigen didn’t shy away from the lack of diversity among the possible quintuplets, tweeting out to her 2.2 million followers:

The Sports Illustrated model’s rant boasted more than 70,000 retweets.

But she later clarified that she wasn’t criticising the contestants themselves, and was sure they’re all “delightful women.”

The third girl in the original picture, Miss Texas, won the competition.
