Top Gear hosts James May and Richard Hammond are reportedly “very close” to signing a deal with Netflix for a new show with former co-host Jeremy Clarkson.

According to the UK’s Mirror, May and Hammond are set to reject a £4 million offer from the BBC to reunite with Clarkson, who was fired from the network in March.

The network claimed his sacking was based on evidence of Clarkson verbally and physically abusing Top Gear senior producer Oisin Tymon.

His exit prompted many rumours about the future of the show and who would replace him as host.

Speaking to the Mirror, a source said no amount of money would persuade May, 52, and Hammond, 45, to continue doing the show without Clarkson, 55.

Instead, the pair have been in talks with several networks, including Britain’s ITV, but are reportedly close to signing with American streaming giant Netflix.

According to the source, they plan to start a new show with Clarkson on the service, which has produced hit shows like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black.

Top Gear would be a big loss for BBC2, which makes around £50 million ($75 million) each year from the show.
