Game of Thrones star Hafthor Bjornsson, aka ‘The Mountain’, isn’t just an actor – he specialises in pulling trucks and also wants to be the world’s strongest man.

The Icelandic born beast who weighs an incredible 199 kilograms came second in the 2014 World’s Strongest man competition and is currently in Malaysia trying to go one better.
Bjornsson won the past two Icelandic National titles but even though he can pull a truck like no other, at this point he’s considered too weak in other areas to take the number one spot.
In GoT he is fully named Gregor ‘The Mountain that rides’ Clegane and is feared for a penchant for extreme violence and brute force.
But in real life the giant channels his strength into a less destructive activity which is very popular in his home country.
Last year VICE produced a documentary on the ‘Giants of Iceland’ featuring Bjornsson. It investigated why the tiny nation has an unusually high proportion of champion strongman competitors.
He stands at 206 centimetres and also had a failed basketball career after a knee injury. His role in the hit television series is his first acting gig, but after watching the videos below, it seems the strongman is where he excels best.
