‘Racist’ Sandy a no-show at ‘First Contact’ reunion
Alexandra ‘Sandy’ Clifford, the woman who shocked Australia with her strong views about Aboriginals on SBS show First Contact, failed to appear on last night’s live post-show interview after facing intense backlash.

Sandy, who was slated to appear in a live Insight interview with the show’s five other participants, was a last-minute no-show.
While the SBS program promised Sandy and her fellow cast mates would “reunited and joined by indigenous people they met,” the Newcastle mother was noticeably absent.
“Sandy couldn’t be here tonight,” host Stan Grant said, before moving on.
The 41-year-old mother of five also failed to complete her journey on the show, leaving suddenly with 15 days to go.

She created controversy for her outspoken attitude towards the indigenous community.
“Give them houses, they burn them down,” Sandy said in the first episode of the three-part series.
“If you think that’s racist, I don’t f—ing care.”
Sandy’s absence during on Insight was quickly noticed and criticised by Twitter users, who accused her of “not having the guts” to go through with the interview.
