Spain has one of Europe’s highest unemployment rates with 25 per cent of the country unemployed, so it’s no surprise that thousands of people have applied for a role on the show.
The casting is for extras, and are believed to be non-speaking roles.
The shoot is not expected to take place until October, with various locations around Seville proposed, including the Moorish palace Alcázar of Seville.
Previous seasons of the cult show have been filmed in locations like Iceland and Croatia, with the fifth series starting filming in Belfast this month.
Game of Thrones recently became network HBO’s most watched series in history, with 9.3 million people tuning in to the finale of season four.
