Network Ten’s imported dating reality show I Wanna Marry Harry was a right royal flop on Friday night.
Ten flagged it may bomb when the series, about a dozen single American women dating a Prince Harry look-a-like, was pulled from Sunday’s schedule a few days ago and dumped into Friday night’s line-up.
I Wanna Marry Harry attracted 341,000 viewers to be 24th overall on OzTAM’s overnight ratings on Friday.
It was beaten in the 8.30pm timeslot by ABC1 Aussie crime series Old School (740,000 viewers) which aired in all five capital city regions.
The Seven and Nine Networks split their programming on Friday nights because of their respective commitments to AFL and NRL and yet all their shows still beat I Wanna Marry Harry.
For example, Seven aired the feature movie Wild Hogs in only Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.
The movie attracted an audience of 383,000 which was 42,000 more than I Wanna Marry Harry which aired in all five capital cities.
