Is Ten’s troubled ‘Wake Up’ set to be axed?
Channel Ten’s troubled morning show Wake Up is under review, and mayl be replaced by a revamped version of Good Morning Australia hosted by Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Matt White.
Wake Up averaged 32,000 viewers a day last week, a stark comparison to Sunrise’s 367,000 viewers.
Ten’s news and current affairs chief Peter Meakin said Wake Up was “under review” but that “no immediate decisions” had been made on the fate of the beleaguered breakfast program.
The program hosted by James Mathison and Natarsha Belling has been plagued with trouble since its launch, with co-host Natasha Exelby axed after 16 days on air and launch producer Adam Boland stepping down almost immediately with mental health issues.
Boland has reportedly walked away from TV and is now doing a degree in Chinese Politics at ANU.
