The release of a Doctor Who mini-episode has sent fans into a frenzy, teasing devotees nine days before a full-length special episode. The Day of the Doctor, which will be released on November 24, will mark the 50th Anniversary of the popular British sci-fi series.

The prequel, called The Night of the Doctor, sees the return of the eighth doctor, John McGann, who last played the character in a US-funded 1996 telemovie. McGann’s appearance was kept a secret by producers of the show and delighted fans the world over.

Unsurprisingly, the seven minute clip has spurned countless internet gifs and memes.
