Beijing accused of ripping off Frozen‘s ‘Let It Go’

Disney’s animated fairytale Frozen is one of the most successful films of all time, so you could forgive anyone for wanting a piece of the action.
It seems even Beijing may not be immune to the charms of Princess Elsa and her sister Anna.

The city, which is hosting the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, is being accused of plagiarism after one of the Games’ official songs was found to have striking similarities to Frozen hit ‘Let It Go’.
YouTube commenters have slammed ‘The Snow and Ice Dance’ for its striking resemblance to the Disney ballad, which topped the charts after the film’s release in 2013.
“So Frozen called…” one YouTube user joked.
“They didn’t even bother to change the key signature,” another wrote.
Trademark and copyright laws are not fully enforced in China, something that has created tensions between China and the United States in the past.
Last month there was a dispute after Chinese animated film The Autobots was accused of borrowing its look and feel from Pixar hit Cars.
