AC/DC to retire
One of Australia’s greatest music exports AC/DC is expected to announce its retirement, according to media reports.
Media commentator Peter Ford told Melbourne radio station 3AW that the band has imminent plans to quit the industry, after 41 years as one of the world’s most legendary rock n’ roll bands.
Ford tweeted last night that he had a “world exclusive” before telling 3AW that the band will never “perform or record ever again”.
One of the highest grossing acts of all time, AC/DC lit up world arenas with songs like Thunderstruck, You Shook Me All Night Long and TNT.
Brothers Angus and Malcolm Young formed the group in 1973, with outlandish Scottish singer Bon Scott on vocals. Angus is best known for wearing a school boy uniform on stage.
