Meghan Markle is being roasted online for the “cringe” video she posted to mark her daughter’s fourth birthday.

The video, which shows Meghan and husband Prince Harry dancing in the labour room, was part of a flurry of social media from the Duchess of Sussex to mark Lilibet’s birthday on Wednesday.

The clip shows Meghan playing it up for the camera, gyrating and twerking around the hospital labour ward to Starrkeisha’s The Baby Momma Dance.

Hoodie-clad Harry also gets jiggy with it, sideways dancing across the screen, getting down and raising his arms.

The throwback video was part of a viral trend at the time involving pregnant women dancing to the hit.

“Four years ago today, this also happened,” Meghan wrote on Instagram.

“Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work — there was only one thing left to do!”

But the reaction online was divisive – and furious.

“Make it stop. #Cringe,” one person wrote on X.

Another said the clip was “beyond cringe”, while a third wrote: “Everything they do to be ‘relatable’ is weirdly not relatable. It’s bizarre how they never miss.”

But there was also support for the former royals, with fans describing the couple as icons and “authentic”.

“Little Britain is about to crash out bad,” wrote one.

“I am telling you, just go see Meghan’s instagram post. They might have just survived Brexit, they won’t survive this.”

Other fans pointed out the Duke of Sussex had referenced the couple’s labor room “Baby Mama dance” in his best-selling memoir Spare.

“Nothing but joy and love in that room,” he wrote of his daughter’s birth.

Meghan also posted several photos of her daughter to celebrate her birthday, including as a newborn.

One post shows Harry with a newborn Lilibet and, clearly more recently, running barefoot with her on a sand track.

“The sweetest bond to watch unfold,” Meghan captioned the post.

“Daddy’s little girl and favourite adventurer.

“Happy birthday Lili!”

Until recently, photos of Lilibet and her six-year-old brother Archie have been rare. But, with Meghan’s return to Instagram to promote her Netflix series as As Ever lifestyle business, she has shared more photos of her family and their life on their Montecito estate.

The photo chosen for the As Ever website shows the duchess and Lilibet running together across a lawn.

Lilibet was born on June 4, 2021. She is seventh in line to the British throne behind Prince William and his three children, then Harry and Archie.
