Meghan Markle is facing criticism over her latest money making venture.
The Duchess of Sussex on Tuesday launched an online shop selling a selection of high-priced products she endorses, her latest commercial venture since stepping back from royal duties with husband Prince Harry.
“Many of you have asked, so here you go! A little shopping to start the week,” she wrote in a post announcing her new e-store.
The shop, hosted on ShopMy, features a range of handpicked fashion items, including a sleeveless “Windsor” gown priced at more than $2057, Saint Laurent sandals at $1234 and earrings for $411.
Meghan coincided the announcement with a rare snap of the Sussexes two young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
“Every day is a love story,” she wrote on a photo of her embracing the youngsters.
The launch comes as anticipation builds for Meghan’s upcoming lifestyle brand, As Ever, a rebrand of her American Riviera Orchard business.
But while some fans praised Meghan’s curated fashion edit, others were quick to ridicule the venture tone-deaf and “desperate,” citing the couple’s reported $60 million net worth and Meghan’s Montecito lifestyle.
Meghan is expected to earn a commission on sales made through ShopMy.

One user on X said: “Makes no sense for a woman in a $15 million mansion with deals that could have netted her upwards of $150 million needs anyone’s cash from affiliate links. It screams of some sort of desperation.”
Other criticised the perception that Meghan was attempting to make money from her title or royal affiliations.
“I can’t believe she is allowed to get away with monetising the monarchy,” an X user commented, while another posted: “That’s literally the most low budget influencer crap, and a Duchess of the British Royal Family is shilling links to make commission.”
The prices of her curated selections also came in for scrutiny.
“I am wondering whether her fans can honestly afford her offerings?” one user wrote. “It would be one thing to indulge in the odd pricey flower sprinkles but fashion for hundreds of+ dollars?”
The online store launch comes amid broader scrutiny of Meghan’s media strategy.
The 43-year-old’s Netflix lifestyle series premiered earlier this month to mixed reviews and an underwhelming reception from viewers.
Despite the reception, Netflix has commissioned the show for a second season.
With Love, Meghan features the Duchess hosting celebrity friends – including Mindy Kaling and Abigail Spencer – at her Montecito home, engaging in cooking and DIY crafts.
Markle shared a promotional post on Instagram shortly after the premiere, writing: “If you’re loving season one, just wait until you see the fun we cooked up on season two! Thanks for joining the party, and an endless thanks to the amazing team and crew who helped bring it all to life!”
