Former TV titan and current right-wing podcaster Karl Stefanovic is back in Australia and urging his followers to “not lay down”.

The long-time Today host, who was dropped by Channel Nine earlier this year, has declared he is “back” and “ready to rumble” after spending time in Britain.

In an Instagram post late on Tuesday, Stefanovic, 52, marked his return to Australia with an online rant about Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and rising fuel prices.

In his minute-long video, filmed outside a BP petrol station, Stefanovic took aim at Albanese over his trip to New York, where the he co-signed a statement on AI regulation ahead of a meeting at the UN General Assembly.

“Albo’s overseas rabbiting on about some AI framework guidelines for the world to take on without the US and China. They’re in a race of their own,” Stefanovic said.

“It’s complete and utter bulls–t. All the while, what’s the distraction?” he said, before complaining about the rising price of fuel.

“Ooh, there’s a petrol station without its prices. You know what that means? Diesel, three bucks a litre.

“All right, so you know what to do. I know you’re all tired. I know you’re all sick and tired of the whole lot,” he continued, before telling his supporters to “get busy”.

“Do not lay down. It’s time to stand up, folks,” Stefanovic said.

“Rumble in the jungle. Get busy, people. I’m back. Send me your messages. Send me your fuel prices, and let’s get busy getting the country back on track,” he went on, signing off with: “Love yous. Peace out.”

Stefanovic was dumped from his lucrative role at Channel Nine earlier this year after he platformed British far-right figure Tommy Robinson on his independent podcast, The Karl Stefanovic Show.

The podcast was off air for several weeks and was this month embroiled in a legal dispute over its ownership.

Stefanovic has posted two new episodes of his podcast in the past week – interviews with billionaire businessman Adrian Portelli and controversial former TV chef Pete Evans.

On Wednesday, he teased that his latest guest would be British-born, former Australian SAS operator Andy “Chalky” White, who would share the “other” side of the special forces regiment’s experience in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, papers were lodged in the NSW Supreme Court on September 14 on behalf of Stefanovic’s business partner Keshnee Ibrahim, regarding the company 123 Podcast Pty Ltd ATF – which owns The Karl Stefanovic Show.

The court heard this week that Stefanovic and Ibrahim, who each hold a 45 per cent stake in 123 Podcast, had reached an “irreconcilable breakdown” in their business relationship.

Stefanovic has agreed to buy out Ibrahim’s stake and the court is considering how to value it.
