Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s home in an exclusive Beverly Hills gated community was reportedly “ransacked” during a burglary.

The Australian couple’s five-bedroom residence on Lime Orchard Road, Hidden Valley, was targeted on Valentine’s Day evening, said police.

The Los Angeles Times reports the actor and country singer were the latest celebrities to fall victim to thieves targeting luxurious homes.

The burglaries were less about the superstardom of owners and more about targeting the high-end items likely to be found, reported the LA Times.

Police responded to a report of a burglary about 8pm on Friday night (local time).

A security guard from the gated estate told police that a burglar had smashed the glass door of the residence, ransacked the home and fled, the newspaper reported.

Kidman and Urban were reportedly not home at the time. Social media posts indicate they were in Las Vegas for Urban’s High in Vega residency.

It has not been revealed what, if anything, was stolen.

The Hidden Valley gated community is in the exclusive Beverly Hills Post Office neighbourhood.

Celebrity neighbours reportedly include Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lawrence, Adele and Katy Perry.

Earlier in February, thieves snatched $US500,000 ($790,000) in jewellery — including 10 luxury men’s watches — from the home of Los Angeles Football Club player Olivier Giroud.

Late last year, Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson’s home in Pacific Palisades had its window smashed, triggering an alarm but thieves did not gain entry.

Kidman and Urban reportedly bought their home, built in 1965, for $4.7 million ($7.4 million) in 2008.
