AFL grand final week officially began on Monday night, with the Brownlow Medal count being held at Melbourne’s Crown Casino.

The night was notable for being AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan’s last in control of the best-and-fairest player count, before he officially hands over to his replacement, Andrew Dillon, for the 2024 season.

But everyone knows the Brownlow red carpet is really the WAGS’ time to shine.

Wives, partners and girlfriends had the chance to don their finery and the night shimmered with old-school Hollywood glamour, dramatic slicked-back hairstyles and a riot of springtime colour.

Here’s how the stars and their partners looked as they stepped onto the red carpet before the count got under way.
