‘Sad day’ to surrender

The former president of the US Donald Trump said his surrender to authorities in Georgia was a “sad day for America”.

Speaking to the press, Mr Trump said people should be able to “challenge an election” and once again claimed the 2020 election was “stolen” and “rigged”.

India nails the landing

India’s Chandrayaan-3 landed safely on the unexplored south pole of the moon, just days after Russia’s Luna-25 failed.

This was India’s second attempt to touch down on the moon.

Baby giraffe is spotless

An extremely rare giraffe was born at a Tennessee zoo last month and this week we got our first look at her.

Bright Zoo is currently holding a competition to name the giraffe, who is all one colour, lacks the normal markings and already stands two-metres tall.

No skin lost for this gecko

A gecko gave us a rather satisfying video of it shedding its skin, before eating it.

The video shows the gecko using its mouth to remove dead skin and then eating it.

Taronga Zoo cares for Matilda

Taronga Zoo has welcomed its newest member, who was named after the Matildas, following their stunning World Cup run.

Matilda the platypus, Tilly for short, was about four months old and in poor condition when she was admitted to Taronga’s Wildlife Hospital but is now on the mend.
