As she often does, Mirka Federer proved a highlight at Wimbledon 2019.
Usually Mrs Federer turns heads for tennis fashion – the $1975 ugly Gucci jumper, the butterfly belt and distressed shorts. This year she led the celebrity charge purely with reactions to on-court action.
Mirka (whose Ray-Ban sunglasses were fabulous) was helped along in 2019 by two of her four children, who seemed fascinated by what their father Roger Federer was up to on court on day two.

Kate Middleton, a royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, seemed slightly surprised by her seat mate’s line in conversation.

Meanwhile, Kate’s Middleton siblings. James and Pippa, couldn’t make it to Wimbledon so they sent some wax dummies instead.

When she wasn’t smooching Formula One boss husband Christian Horner, former Spice Girl Geri Horner gave her love to everyone.

The Crown’s Claire Foy sat in the royal box, of course, but failed to do her duty and keep calm while carrying on.

The star got it together enough to offer a snack to a pleased David Beckham, who had Sir Richard Branson and daughter Holly on his other side in a heavyweight posse.

Becks – as always, the best dressed man in sight in a grey flannel pant and tan linen jacket – also seemed pumped by watching the action.

Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams, whose plus-one was boyfriend Reuben Selby, did the neighbourly thing and shared a drink with model Poppy Delevingne.

In front of Williams, Luther’s Ruth Wilson was more in need of a tonic for her nerves than an iced tea. The medics would have been keeping a quiet eye on her.

Showing she’s no one trick pony, Wilson (does she get out much?) emoted at the other end of the spectrum with Avengers: Endgame’s Tessa Thompson.

Lily Allen tried hard to keep a lid on her excitement.

But Sienna Miller and Derek Blasberg made the most of their strawberries and general sense of bonhomie.

Carly Steel and Australian Rebel Wilson were moved to capture some memories of their day out. Lady in front of them is stoked.

Janelle Monae, whose Wimbledon outfit was a schoolgirl-inspired grey and white striped skirt and top with long socks and a beret, in a quiet moment of reflection.

Similarly inscrutable? Cliff Richard, in a David Copperfield Takes a Day Off outfit and pensive moment.

Joely Richardson’s facial expression was totally normal but her polka dot floor-length dress and ’80s disco shoes – heels at Wimbledon are radical – make her worth including.

Then there’s future King George’s grandmother, Carole Middleton, who took her hat off to herself for dressing younger than her daughters. Winner.
