Jim Carrey sparks Twitter feud with Mussolini’s granddaughter

Actor-turned-artistic virtuoso Jim Carrey has engaged in a war of words with the granddaughter of Benito Mussolini after publishing a scathing sketch on Twitter.
The ‘Truman Show and Ace Ventura leading man took to the social media platform on Sunday to post his depiction of the Italian fascist dictator and his mistress hanging upside down, in a scene similar to their 1945 execution.
Accompanying the image was this caption: “If you’re wondering what fascism leads to, just ask Benito Mussolini and his mistress Claretta.”
However, Alessandra Mussolini, a Member of the European Parliament, did not mince her words, calling Carrey a b*****d.
You are a bastard

Ms Mussolini, who is a noted Trump supporter, continued responding to Carrey’s initial provocation, highlighting American historical events he should consider rendering, including the Japanese atomic bombings.

Twitter users largely applauded the Canadian-born actor’s anti-fascist drawing, suggesting Ms Mussolini’s strict demands paled in comparison to the pain her grandfather inflicted.
Benito Mussolini was a noted ally of Adolf Hitler during World War II and headed the Italian government until he was overthrown in 1943.
Imagine going through your life defending your fascist monster of an ancestor instead of trying to make the world a better place to offset his atrocities

Alli or Alisa or whatever your name is sweetheart, Jim Carrey doesn’t read his comments. Until you are removed from Parliament, go back to reading your Q anon theories on Reddit, and bullying a 16-year-old climate change activist. You’re a real leader. 🤣🤣🤣💋

The Italian autocrat’s right-wing leaning granddaughter has not been a stranger to political controversy.
In 2005, Ms Mussolini was widely condemned after responding to criticism by a budding Italian transgender politician with a homophobic slur.
Carrey’s burgeoning career as a political artist has already ensnared a number of key figures within US politics, often homing in on the Republican Party and President Donald Trump.
