You could never accuse Pippa Middleton of not being able to follow a dress code.

Sashaying into Wimbledon on Thursday, Pippa showcased her baby bump in a broderie anglaise sundress in sync with the tournament’s all-white rule.

The mother-to-be – expecting her first baby in October – smashed it courtside in the Anna Mason dress, which she wore with oversize Chanel sunglasses and ankle-tie espadrilles.

With her brother James Middleton (looking like an artist’s impression of a sea captain in a navy blazer) as her plus-one, Pippa accessorised with a straw J.Crew clutch and Jess Collett Panama hat.

She was much girlier than tennis’ most famous WAG, Mirka Federer. The wife of eight-time champ Wimbledon champ Roger Federer turned heads on July 2 by fronting to watch her husband in tiny white frayed shorts and a $950 Gucci belt with giant crystal butterfly, but was more restrained later in the week.

Two days later, Mirka was back with a cool, rock-star look. She dressed down a fabulous blowdry with faded jeans and a marle slogan t shirt.

While Mirka’s playing days are behind her – she’s a former world No. 76 – Pippa is still not happy being just a tennis spectator, despite being in her second trimester.

She has “been keen to continue playing safely throughout pregnancy,” she wrote in her column for Waitrose supermarkets.

A marathon skiier and runner, Pippa has been “playing regularly, mostly doubles” but “I haven’t been giving 100 per cent to every shot.”

Her sporty big sister Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, is yet to front at Wimbledon (even though she’s patron), but the family really flew the flag during the championships’ first week.

Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton beamed as they made their way to the royal box on centre court on day three to sit with the Duke of Kent.

Carole also paid homage to Wimbledon in a broderie dress teamed with the wedges so beloved of Middleton women. She cheered on Roger Federer, who Kate has said is Carole’s “heartthrob”.

The royal treatment for Kate’s family is a contrast to the duchess’ childhood experiences. She’s said that while Wimbledon was “very much part of my growing up”, the Middletons used to queue for tickets.

While the Middletons are quasi royals by association, the real thing was front and centre at Wimbledon.

Lady Gabriela Windsor and brother Lord Frederick Windsor looked like a sophisticated mixed doubles team in coordinating blue.

Prince and Princess Michael of Kent were immaculately attired (he wore Wimbledon green and purple) but not light of heart.

Australian tennis royalty was represented in the form of Bec Hewitt, wife of 2002 Wimbledon champ Lleyton Hewitt, who wore a tartan sundress.

Nip Tuck actress Joely Richardson wore a perfect print tea dress while her friend, model and TV host Tess Daly, aced it in a pale pink pantsuit.
