As chair of the $30,000-a-head annual Met Gala in New York City, US Vogue editor Anna Wintour is the most powerful door bitch in the world.
Anyone with aspirations to be included in the ranks of the celebrity and financial elite clamours for a ticket, but Ms Wintour signs off on all invitees, including plus-ones.
Appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden this week, Ms Wintour, 67, didn’t hesitate when asked by Corden to name the one person she would never invite back to fashion’s marquee event.
“Donald Trump,” she said, as the audience burst into cheers.
The US president was once a fixture at the A-list fundraiser, attending the Met Gala with now-first lady Melania Trump nine times between 2004 and 2012.
The event actually holds a special significance for the Trumps: Mr Trump proposed to the then-Melania Knauss on the night of the 2004 gala with a 15-carat emerald-cut diamond ring worth $1.5 million (although the billionaire realtor told The New York Times he only paid half for it).

Ms Wintour was a Hillary Clinton supporter during the presidential campaign and, via the Vogue pages, endorsed her as candidate, and reportedly served as a campaign trail fashion consultant.
But, according to The Huffington Post, she met Mr Trump before his inauguration and “later implied that his wife will likely land a Vogue cover during her husband’s time in office”.
Ms Wintour named and shamed Mr Trump to avoid having to eat pickled pig’s feet during a round of ‘Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts’ on the TV talk show.
But faced with having to rank designers Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren from best to worst, she chose to eat a bite of her “worst nightmare”: bacon-wrapped pizza.
“They are all masters of their universe. But, solely because he was my dinner companion last night, Tom Ford,” she answered before refusing to say anything else.
She was more forthcoming when asked if the longstanding rumour she dated late singer Bob Marley was true.
“Fake news! I’ve never actually met Bob Marley,” she told Corden, 39.
The host pressed her: “Had you met him, would you have slept with him?”
Said Ms Wintour, “Absolutely.”
When it was her turn to grill Corden, she asked, “You’ve attended several of my dinner parties. Which of the attendees did you enjoy talking to the least?”
Corden wouldn’t go there and chose to ate a piece of bull penis instead, but did offer, “It’s somebody so famous and it was so boring.”
