Speculation is mounting that singer Beyoncé has given birth to twins, with media outlets reporting the birth and her father posting it on social media.
While there has been no official confirmation from Beyoncé or husband Jay Z, her estranged father, Matthew Knowles, took to Twitter and Instagram to share the news.
“They’re here! #beyonce #twins #jayz #happybirthday,” Mr Knowles wrote on Twitter and Instagram on Sunday (US time), Father’s Day, alongside an image of a digital card that reads: “Happy Birthday to the twins! Love, Granddad.”

His wife and Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles Lawson, liked the post, adding weight to the birth claim.
A “source close to the couple” confirmed the news to the respected CNN, while E! News reported the pair had welcomed the twins on Saturday night (US time). Billboard, however, claimed the twins were born on Monday.
E! News attributed the news to “multiple sources”, adding that Jay Z and daughter Blue Ivy, 5, had also been seen together at the Los Angeles hospital at the weekend.
It even speculated that the twins were a boy and a girl, based on the sighting of “an unidentified woman carrying a bouquet of pink, purple and blue flowers with two giant baby foot-shaped pink and blue balloons that read ‘Baby Girl’ and ‘Baby Boy'” at the hospital.
Judging by previous form, it may be some time before the couple makes it official – they took several weeks to announce the birth of daughter Blue Ivy in early 2012.
But Mr Knowles’ announcement was seen as tantamount to stealing Beyoncé’s thunder, upsetting many fans, some even refusing to believe the news until it comes from the singer herself.

Mr Knowles was the manager of Destiny’s Child – the R&B group in which Beyoncé was the lead singer from the late 1990s.
Beyoncé, 35, announced her pregnancy with twins in a sensational social media post in February which set an Instagram record, totalling more than 11 million likes.
“We have been blessed two times over,” the post was captioned.
“We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes.”
The picture was shared more than eight million times within 24 hours of it being posted, while Twitter also went into meltdown over the news, with more than 500,000 tweets about the announcement in the first hour.
Beyoncé’s pregnancy forced her to pull out of April’s Coachella music festival, but she did perform at the 2017 Grammy Awards in mid-February.
