Lindsay Lohan rallies support for Donald Trump

Troubled former Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan says Americans need to come together in support of President Donald Trump.

In a Facebook Live interview with the Daily Mail, the 30-year-old said of the new US President: “You have to join him. If you can’t beat him, join him,” adding she hopes Mr Trump will “broaden his ideas” when it comes to refugees.

“You know, I think it would be a positive thing for America to show their care and support, and for him to experience what it’s like for these people … experience how giving Turkey has been to the refugees and how many they have welcomed in,” Lohan said in the interview recorded late last week.
Lohan has been meeting with Syrian refugees in Turkey as the ambassador for German energy drink Mintanine.
Lohan’s support for Mr Trump comes despite his 2004 comments to US radio shock jock that the actress is “probably deeply troubled and therefore great in bed”.

After the recording of the discussion was released last year, Lohan responded by saying she was focused on “positive things”.

In the Daily Mail interview, Lohan also spoke of her interest in Islam and said she’s been studying the Quran, calling it “beautiful”.

When asked if she’s consider becoming a Muslim, she said that “anything’s possible”.

Lohan said she was worried returning to the US because of the current political climate since Mr Trump’s travel ban on people in Muslim-majority countries.

“I was scared to come here with everything going on because of my personal beliefs,” she said.
