Sia splits from husband after ‘soul searching’

Grammy-nominated singer Sia Furler and her American filmmaker-husband, Erik Anders Lang, are separating after two years of marriage.
In a statement released through a spokesperson on Wednesday, Sia and Lang said “after much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple”.
The pair were married in August 2014. They said they are “dedicated to remaining friends”.
No more details were provided.
In April 2015, the notoriously private Sia told Australian radio hosts Fitzy and Wippa her husband had made his first visit to her hometown.
“He’s met mum. He met dad for the first time yesterday,” she revealed.
“They actually fell in love with one another and that was awesome. It’s pretty cute.”
The California-based singer said she and Lang struggled to explore Australia due to her growing fame.
“It’s kind of disappointing because we can’t do anything. I’m kind of a bit famous. I didn’t realise I’m so famous,” she said.
Sia, who has written songs for Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry and others, is known for her own hits such as Chandelier and Cheap Thrills.
She earned three Grammy nominations on Tuesday, including best pop vocal album for This Is Acting.
Lang’s website says he has created documentaries for Louis Vuitton, Honda, MTV and other companies.
