Los Angeles prosecutors have decided not to charge Russell Crowe for forcefully removing rapper Azealia Banks from his party after she allegedly threatened to cut a female guest’s throat with a broken glass.

Witnesses told investigators New York-born Banks was the “assaultive party”, used a racial epithet and after making the throat cutting threat Crowe “escorted” her out of his Beverly Hills Hotel suite.

Banks claimed Crowe assaulted her, but the LA District Attorney’s office told AAP on Wednesday they concluded “the physical escort out of the room was justified to prevent the imminent violence threatened by Banks”.
