Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston have broken up after just three months together, according to media reports.

PEOPLE magazine has quoted a source as saying the pair had “an amicable split”.

It follows reports in The Daily Mail this week that Swift, 26, had become “uncomfortable” with Hiddleston’s wish to be more “public” about their relationship.

The paper reported a source saying that Hiddleston had invited Swift to the Emmy Awards this month, but she had begun questioning whether the actor was with her for “the right reasons”.

The pair went public with their relationship in mid June when photos of the couple snapped on a beach in Rhode Island, in the United States, were published online.

PEOPLE magazine said a “whirlwind romance” ensued, with both meeting each other’s parents, celebrating Independence Day and travelling together, including to Australia for Hiddleston’s filming of the latest Thor movie.

“Look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we’re very happy,” Hiddleston told The Hollywood Reporter in July.

The relationship followed hard on the heels of Swift’s relationship with DJ Calvin Harris, who has since posted uncharitable tweets about Swift’s conduct and the pair’s split.
