Donald Trump’s plan to build a wall between the United States-Mexico border might be a controversial idea, but it has proven an inspiration for protesting artists.

On the day Trump secured the Republican nomination for president, a miniature wall was erected around his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday.

The tiny 15cm high grey walls topped with razor wire and “keep out” signs went viral on social media, before it was torn down on Wednesday morning.

During his campaign, Trump drew cheers by vowing to build a single wall along the US-Mexico border to stem illegal immigration and drug smuggling.

The artist, who calls himself Plastic Jesus, is known for posting “No Trump Anytime” signs around Los Angeles.
