How Leonardo DiCaprio almost wasn’t an actor
Leonardo DiCaprio may be at the peak of his powers now, but acting hasn’t always been his performing passion.
In a 2004 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the talk show’s staff dug deep to discover a rather incriminating fact.
DiCaprio was a break dancer in his youth, and even came second in a German break dancing contest at one point.

When asked by Winfrey if he’d ever considered quitting acting in his early years, DiCaprio said “yes”.
“Because I was a break-dancer,” he admitted, as the audience laughed.
Quickly predicting where the segment may be have been headed, DiCaprio cut Oprah short.
“Now, don’t ask me to break-dance, because I’ve since lost my moves,” he continued.
“But I was a break-dancer, and I had a choppy, sort of punky haircut.”
Oprah’s diligent researchers even discovered DiCaprio’s break dancing nickname: ‘The Noodle’.
“Oh, boy, yeah,” DiCaprio said.. “That’s from way, way back when I was a little kid in my pop-locking days.”
Despite being one of Hollywood’s leading men, DiCaprio remained modest about his breakdancing talent.
“[It was a] small thing,” he said.
