Speculation is mounting whether Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have rekindled their romance after they were spotted together in Byron Bay on the NSW north-coast.

The pair were photographed at the Falls Festival at the coastal town during New Year’s Eve, with friends and Liam’s brothers, Chris and Luke, Fairfax Media reported.

Pop-singer Cyrus and actor Liam were reportedly sighted kissing and cuddling – and seen at a local restaurant.

Brothers Liam, Chris and Luke were in town visiting their family during the festive period. “Best brothers. Best mates. Best night!!! Happy new year everyone! @fallsfestival @disclosure,” Liam wrote on a photo posted to his Instagram account.

The family were busy posting their holiday snaps on social media – but Cyrus was no where to be seen.

Cyrus, 23, and Liam, 25, met while filming The Last Song and were an item for five years.

They announced their engagement in June 2012, but broke it off the next year.

Since the break-up, Cyrus was linked to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son, Patrick.
