Doctors said they found “every drug imaginable” in Odom’s body, including cocaine and opiates.
Odom, an ex-NBA star and Kardashian, a reality TV star, separated in 2013 after allegations of infidelity and drug addiction on Odom’s part. Yet Kardashian has been by Odom’s side throughout the ordeal.
Members of the Kardashian family visited Odom in hospital last week, while the basketball player remained on life support.
On Wednesday, Khloe Kardashian spoke publicly for the first time since the overdose, posting a statement to her website.
“The past week has been incredibly difficult,” she wrote.
“I am so thankful to family, friends, and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar.
“You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure.”
In a recent episode of the family’s TV show Keeping up with the Kardashians , Khloe admitted to worrying Lamar may spin out of control following the death of his best friend, Jamie, from drug-related causes.
