Denise Richards has taken the high road after being the target of a vitriolic stream of abuse from her ex-husband Charlie Sheen.

Sheen, who divorced Richards in 2006 after having two children with her, took to Twitter over the weekend to lambaste his former wife for her parenting skills.

In what he described as an “open letter to the media”, which has since been deleted, Sheen called Richards “a shake down piece of sh*t doosh phace [sic]”.

In a particularly nasty jab, he described Richards – who has sole custody of their daughters Lola and Sam – as the “worst mom alive”.

In another tweet, the 49-year-old actor said Richards, 44, was “a heretic washed up piglet shame pile”.

In contrast, Sheen hailed his third wife Brooke Mueller as “a sexy rok [sic] star whom I adore”.

This is particularly interesting given Richards took temporary custody of the twin boys Sheen had with Mueller in 2013 after child protective services raised concerns over drug use in their home.

Sheen has since deleted the tweets and the blog post, but that didn’t stop Richards from responding to the accusations.

To her credit, the former Bond girl kept it classy and cordial, tweeting: “Happy Dad’s Day! @charliesheen have a great trip in Mexico! Kids were disappointed u weren’t here for it- Hey we’ll celebrate when u r back!”
