Iggy Azalea in strife over homophobic Twitter rants
Iggy Azalea has withdrawn from a gay pride concert in the US after some homophobic tweets from her past were unearthed.
The rapper was set to perform at Pittsburgh Pride on June 13, one of her few remaining performances after cancelling her arena tour in March.

However, Azalea was met with backlash from members of the lesbian and gay community after some homophobic tweets surfaced online.
The tweets, which have since been deleted, were made in 2011 before Azalea’s career took off and she handed control of her social media over to management.
They involved the use of derogatory slurs and a handful of racist statements.
A number of advocates for LGBT rights deemed her involvement in the Pittsburgh event “insensitive” and called for a boycott of the concert.
Azalea pulled out of the event on Monday and posted a statement on Twitter apologising for her past statements.
The Australian-born singer said she “deeply regretted” the tweets and supported the fight for gay rights.
