Barnaby Joyce: why I let fly at Johnny Depp

amber heard elleSpeaking to Elle magazine, the 29-year-old insisted her transition into married life with 52-year-old Depp has been “a fairly organic process”.

“Nothing is a dramatic change. We’ve been together for a long time now,” she said. “I have a fiercely independent spirit.”

When asked specifically about Depp, Heard said: “I fall in love again and again.”

The actress, who met Depp on the set of the 2011 film The Rum Diary, has been fiercely private about their relationship, and for good reason.

“The thing that really scares me is the potential of losing my freedom,” she explained of her decision to shy away from the spotlight.

“I never want for my life to lose the ability to transverse the world, with freedom and ease – the freedom and ease I have worked so hard to acquire for myself.”

The actress also said she often felt pigeonholed by Hollywood due to her appearance and her relationship.

“I feel like I’m constantly fighting against my exterior, or this exterior presentation of myself because of how I look or perhaps because of who I’m with,” she reasoned.

“I get a stack of scripts, like, once a month, and most of the time, you find these placeholder girls that are there to provide a bounce for the male character.”

Heard has been spending time on the Gold Coast with her celebrity husband, who is currently filming Pirates of the Caribbean 5 there.
