An American celebrity magazine has made an awkward gaffe by reporting that Andy Murray and Brooklyn Decker were expecting a child together.

The only problem is that Murray is not dating or married to the actress and model; he just got hitched to long-time partner Kim Sears.

Decker, 28, is expecting a child, however not with Murrary, rather with her husband of six years and former tennis star Andy Roddick.

Roddick and his wife announced earlier in the day that they were expecting their first baby.

People magazine confused the tennis-playing pair namesakes and the mishap was outed on Twitter by Decker herself.

Cue clinical celeb banter:

‘A-Rod’ wasn’t going to miss out on the fun either, although it didn’t seem to scare the fiery Scot.

Roddick, a former US Open winner and a three-time Wimbledon runner-up, also saw the lighter side.

American model Chrissy Teigan alerted Decker to the mistake and included a screenshot of the now edited story in the Tweet:
