Noiseworks rocker Jon Stevens has been charged with assault following a domestic argument with fashion designer fiancee Jodhi Meares.

New South Wales police confirmed they were called to the couple’s Point Piper home in the early hours of Monday morning following reports of a domestic argument between Stevens and Meares.

Police issued an interim apprehended violence order which prohibits Stevens from approaching Meares for 28 days and arrested the 52-year-old on assault charges.

Stevens was released on bail and will face Waverley Local Court on Thursday.

Meares made headlines last June when she rolled her four-wheel-drive in Bellevue Hill and pleaded guilty to drink-driving charges after being found to have a blood alcohol reading of 0.181.

Stevens and 42-year-old Meares became engaged in 2013, with the fashion designer previously married to billionaire James Packer from 1999 to 2002.
