Geoffrey Edelsten proposes to Gabi Grecko at Cup
Melbourne businessman Geoffrey Edelsten has proposed to his girlfriend Gabi Grecko outside the Emirates Marquee at the Melbourne Cup.
The 71-year-old got down on one knee in front of shocked onlookers and asked the 25-year-old American to marry him. She accepted his proposal with a thumbs up.

The pair looked equally striking, with Edelsten wearing a garish yellow suit and Grecko a large feather headpiece and bejewelled dress decorated with clown faces.
The newly-engaged couple were later seen in the Emirates Marquee mingling with Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and flashing Grecko’s new pear-shaped diamond engagement ring.
