Amanda Bynes loses bid to reclaim finances
Actress Amanda Bynes has lost her bid to win back control of her financial affairs from her parents.
A lawyer representing the troubled Hairspray star was shut down in court on Friday because, under the terms of her parents’ guardianship, Bynes lacks the capacity to enter into a binding contract with a legal representative.
Hence, the quardianship which the star’s parents won earlier in October stays in place.

According to TMZ.com she was spotted dining out at a Hollywood restaurant kilometres from the courthouse just minutes before the emergency hearing was scheduled.
Bynes tweeted her intention to win back control from her parents on Friday, writing, “I am going to court today with my lawyer to prove that I am more than capable of handling my personal life and finances and I am enraged.”
Her lawyer, Artemio M. Santiago, was removed as her legal representative by the judge, who ruled court-appointed David Esquibias will continue to serve as her sole lawyer.
Bynes was involuntarily committed to a psychiatric hospital on October 10 after concerns about her erratic behaviour and mental state.
She was released after officials ruled she was stable.
