‘I wanted off this earth’: Anderson reveals rape
Actress Pamela Anderson has revealed that she was molested, abused and raped from the age of six, telling attendees at an event for her charity: “I wanted off this earth”.
The former Baywatch star made the shock admission at the launch of The Pamela Anderson Foundation in Cannes on Friday night.
“I did not have an easy childhood,” she confessed to 200 guests. “Despite loving parents, I was molested from age six by a female babysitter.”
The 46-year-old also spoke about being raped at the age of 12 by a much older man.
“I went to a friend’s boyfriend’s house and his older brother decided to teach me backgammon which led into a back massage, which led into rape. My first heterosexual experience. He was 25 years old and I was 12,” Anderson shared.
Only a few years later, Anderson said she was abused by a school boyfriend who “decided it would be funny to gang-rape me with six friends.”
The courageous speech came as a surprise to guests as Anderson has never spoken about her disturbing childhood experiences before.
“No one was expecting a speech like that. Pamela was so brave,” an attendee told the Daily Mail.
